Boxing show slated for May in Alexandria Bay

A USA-sanctioned amateur boxing show will be presented by the Watertown Area Boxing Club at 6 p.m. May 31 at the Alexandria Bay Ice Arena.

There will be 12-15 competitive bouts featuring amateur boxers from the United States and Canada. Local boxers tentatively scheduled to compete include Joee Frattali, Angel Perez, Delvon Bullock, Connor Gibbons and Jeannine Gomiela, the NYS 2007 Golden Gloves champion in the women's 154-pound division.

■ The Watertown Boxing Club will be sending four fighters to compete in the Syracuse Golden Gloves semifinals on March 29 in Elmira. Finals will be held on April 11-12 at the Pepsi Pavilion at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
