Retired Lt. Gen. James L. Campbell, a former commander of the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum, returns Thursday to speak to the Northern New York-Fort Drum Chapter of the Association of the United States Army at its Corporate Appreciation Reception.

The event will be held at the Elks Lodge, 782 Bradley St., and will recognize local businesses that have supported the military community in the past year. It begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by the official program at 6:30 p.m.

Gen. Campbell led the 10th Mountain Division from 1999 to 2001, during which time he deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina and served as commanding general for the Multi-National Division (North) for Operation Joint Forge.
