RAYMONDVILLE — Raymond E. Phelix, 71, of 76 Grantville Road, died Wednesday at Massena Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Phelix was employed at various north country dairy farms and also worked at Slawson's Lumber Mills, Dalton.

He was born June 30, 1936, in Massena, son of Raymond and Bernice E. Snickles Phelix.

He is survived by his companion of 43 years, Cathryn Monroe, Raymondville; two sons, Jeffrey, and his companion, Bobbie Jean Phillips, and Bradley, all of Raymondville; his companion's son, Francis Monroe, Raymondville; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marie E. and Joseph Guilbert, Anna Deon and Alice C. Pitts, all of Massena, and Mary and Roger Matthie, South Colton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Floyd E., Massena, and Charles E. and Lynette, Louisville, two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Clifford and Milford F. Sr., died before him.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Memorial Home, Massena, with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
