CANTON — The Potsdam boys lacrosse team knocked off Canton for the first time since 1991 as the Sandstoners registered a 8-6 win in a Northern Athletic Conference matchup Thursday.
The game saw the Sandstoners take an 6-3 halftime lead that they never relinquished, thanks to a 10-save performance from Goalie Garrett DiTullio.
Jordan LaPointe scored two goals to lead Potsdam (6-2 overall, 5-1 league).
Sam Bradman scored three goals to lead Canton.
Patrick Sweeney recorded eight saves for the Golden Bears (6-3, 4-2).
MASSENA 9, HEUVELTON 5
Lucas Purser helped ensure the Red Raiders' first NAC win of the season with 14 saves at Massena.
Taylor Elsner had four goals and two assists for Massena (2-6, 1-5). Matt Thompson and Zeb O'Geen each added two goals for the Red Raiders.
Tom Blackburn made 11 saves, while five different players scored for Heuvelton (1-8, 1-6).

COLTON-PIERREPONT 1
Kyle Shampine led the way for the Larries with three goals and two assists in an NAC win over the Colts in Brasher Falls.
Jobie McCarthy supplied three goals, and Connor McCuin and Andrew Fiske combined for five saves for St. Lawrence (6-3, 5-3).
Gavin Dominy scored for Colton-Pierrepont (0-7).
SALMON RIVER 21, SARANAC LAKE 3
Mac Mitchell paced the Shamrocks with six goals and three assists in an NAC win over the Red Storm in Fort Covington.
Salmon River scored seven goals in the opening period, and Ty Thompson supplied three goals over the course of the game. Jake Lazore recorded 10 saves for the Shamrocks (7-0).
Luke Niell, Lee Freeburg and Mike Phelabaum all scored for Saranac Lake (3-2, 2-2).
WATERTOWN 14, SOUTH JEFFERSON 1
Brett McAuliffe supplied five goals and an assist and Travis McGraw two goals and three assists as Watertown jumped out in the first half and rolled to a Frontier League victory in Adams.
Chad Gebo added a goal and two assists and Pat Commeret two goals as the Cyclones (9-2, 5-2) outscored South Jefferson 10-0 the first two quarters. Tom Capone won 15 of 16 faceoffs for Watertown, and goalie Wilson Mukrdechian didn't allow a goal until the last quarter. He made eight saves.
Hunter Van Horn scored for the Spartans (4-5, 2-5).
GENERAL BROWN 17, INDIAN RIVER 10
Robert Thomas accounted for two goals and five assists as the Lions secured the Frontier League victory at Dexter.
Eric Munk connected for four goals, Jared Flath scored three times, and Sam Bourcy and Joe Oliver each added a pair of goals for General Brown (5-6, 3-4).
Jeremy Aiken netted four goals, while Corey Brown recorded three goals and two assists for the Warriors (1-9, 0-7), who trailed by one goal after three quarters.
GIRLS LACROSSE
INDIAN RIVER 16, HEUVELTON 5
Kayleigh Pearson scored four goals, including her 100th career goal, to help spark the Warriors to a nonleague victory at Philadelphia.
Teddi Filiatrault led the way with four goals and four assists, while Alissa Olsen chipped in with three goals and four assists, and Lizzie Penree added two goals and two assists for Indian River (2-6).
Emily Bush supplied three goals to lead the Bulldogs (3-4).

SANDSTONERS WIN TWICE
Kaila Maguire won three events to help lead Potsdam to a 1851/2-1291/2 win over Madrid-Waddington and a 1631/2-1301/2 win over Canton in a Northern Athletic Conference meet at Madrid.
Maguire posted wins in the 1,500-, 800-, and 3,000-meter races for the Sandstoners (4-0).
Jennifer Curley won the high jump, 100, 200 and 400 to lead Madrid-Waddington (1-2) to a win over Canton, 1481/2-1461/2.
Miranda Corbine took the shot put and discus for Canton (1-3).
