TURIN — Kay E. Gillett, 70, East Main Street, died Monday at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville.

She was employed from 1956 to 1964 at Gould Paper Co., Lyons Falls, and for many years, she and her husband, Robert, operated a dairy farm on Dorn Road, Boonville, before moving to Turin in 1991. She also was a certified nursing assistant at Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville, from 1988 to 1999. After retirement, she was a private-duty nurse.

Born Sept. 1, 1937, in Lowville, daughter of Leslie and Catherine Hill Rudd, she graduated from General Martin High School, Glenfield, and in 1956 from Utica School of Commerce.

She married Robert S. Gillett on July 5, 1958, at Turin Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating. Mr. Gillett died Nov. 11, 2004.

Surviving are a daughter, Sue Austin, Turin, 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mills Funeral Home with the Rev. Billie Jean Melton officiating.

Burial will be in Turin Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
