Fisher's key hit boosts Copenhagen
'D' DIVISION VICTORY: Single with two outs in sixth sends Golden Knights to win

COPENHAGEN — Jim Fisher smacked a two-out single to score David Hovendon with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Copenhagen held on for an 8-7 Frontier League "D" Division baseball victory over Lyme on Monday.

Ben Freeman went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Shane Berghorn drove in two runs on two hits for Copenhagen (5-3 overall, 5-2 league). Matt Aubin supplied a double and a triple for the Golden Knights.

Matt Putnam went 3-for-4 with a triple, and Josh Lothrop added a pair of hits for the Indians (4-5, 4-4).

ALEXANDRIA 11,

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 7

Azini Snyder went 4-for-4 to lead the Purple Ghosts to a "D" Division victory at Belleville.

Marcus Megan, Jacob Wills and Ben Cole each provided two hits for Alexandria (3-5, 2-5).

Josh Kohl and Matt Harmych led Belleville Henderson (0-9) with two hits apiece.

SACKETS HARBOR 8, LAFARGEVILLE 1

Nathan Kolb and Brett Weller each had two hits and two RBIs to help lead the Patriots (6-2, 5-2) to a "D" Division win at LaFargeville.

Scott Laquay drove in the run for LaFargeville (1-7, 1-5).

GENERAL BROWN 8,

THOUSAND ISLANDS 2

Kyle Keohane was 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Lions defeated the Vikings in a crossover game at Dexter.

Josh Dieterich was also 2-for-4 for General Brown (4-9, 2-7).

Allen Dwyer finished 3-for-3 for Thousand Islands (6-5, 5-4).

INDIAN RIVER 13, CARTHAGE 4

Brandon Cavelet struck out 14 and allowed only five hits in a route-going performance as the Warriors beat the Comets in an "A" Division game at Philadelphia.

Jordan Hunneyman led the attack for Indian River (8-4, 5-0) with two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs. Sean Iles also contributed two hits for Indian River, which broke the game open with a seven-run second inning.

Gregory Christian singled in two runs for Carthage (4-8, 3-2).

LISBON 5, HERMON-DEKALB 2

Lisbon scored all five of its runs after there were two outs in an inning, picking up a victory over Hermon-DeKalb in a Northern Athletic Conference West Division game in DeKalb Junction.

Matt Moncrief had two, two-out hits for the Golden Knights (4-1).

The Demons dropped to 4-4, 4-2.

EDWARDS-KNOX 5, MORRISTOWN 3

Sean Sullivan struck out 13 and scattered two hits to lead the Cougars (2-4, 1-4) in a West Division game in Russell.

B.J. Mackin drove in two runs for Edwards-Knox.

Will Griffith allowed just one hit and added a triple for Morristown (0-6).

ST. LAWRENCE 4,

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 3

Craig Peets reached first base in the top of the eighth inning on a dropped third strike and later scored on an outfielder's throwing error to give St. Lawrence Central (4-4, 3-3) an East Division win in Parishville.

Peets finished with two hits for the Larries. Dennis Tebo had two hits for the Panthers (3-3).

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 21,

MADRID-WADDINGTON 4

Cody O'Connor hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning and finished with three hits to lead the Panthers (3-2, 3-0) past in an East Division game in Brushton.

Justin Supernault, Brandon Young, Zack Lyon, Josh Sevey and Zach Armstrong each added two hits for Brushton-Moira.

Kyle Lawrence had two hits for the Yellow Jackets (0-7, 0-5).

CHATEAUGAY 22, ST. REGIS FALLS 1

Nick Farrell had four hits, including three doubles, to lead Chateaugay past the Saints (0-3) in an East Division game in St. Regis Falls.

Justin Corcoran and Kyle Demers added three hits each for the Bulldogs (3-1).

CANTON 8, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 3

Mike Murray had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the Golden Bears (3-3, 3-2) in a Central Division game in Canton.

Brad Stone doubled twice for Canton. Matt Frego had three hits to lead the Flyers (3-4, 1-4).

POTSDAM 4, TUPPER LAKE 2

Jerry Coleman went 3-for-4, including a two-run homer, to lead Potsdam (5-1) in a Central Division game at Tupper Lake.

Tony Provost went 2-for-3 to lead the Lumberjacks (2-6, 1-5).
