WINTHROP — The funeral for Wayne K. Arquitt, 63, Winthrop, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Church, Brasher Falls. Burial will be in Union Buckton Cemetery, town of Stockholm.

Mr. Arquitt died of kidney cancer Sunday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, under the care of his family and Hospice.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hammill Funeral Home.

Mr. Arquitt was employed for 40 years at Aluminum Company of America, Massena; he was known as "Arkie" by his coworkers. He retired from the pot rooms in 2005.

Born March 8, 1945, in Louisville, a son of Harold and Bertha Bercume Arquitt, he graduated from St. Lawrence Central School, Brasher Falls.

He married Patricia Arquiett on March 16, 1963, at St. Patrick's Church with Monsignor Herbert J. Hannon officiating.

Mr. Arquitt enjoyed taking care of his lawn, woodworking, golf, hunting and was a fan of the New York Giants.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Timothy and Samuel, Peachtree, Ga.; two daughters, Kimberly Harrison and Pamela Snyder, both of Massena; a brother and his wife, Lawrence and Hannah, Pennsylvania; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Theresa and Ernie Munson-Farmer, Winthrop, Eileen and Lloyd Haskill, Poughkeepsie, Edith and Bud DuBray, Union City, Pa., Florence Judware-Ortlib, Kingston, and Gloria Arquitt, Saugerties; seven grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Four brothers, John, Howard, Edwin and Donald Arquitt, died before him.
