Clemons knocks in winner for Beavers
VICTORY OVER FALCONS: Beaver River rallies to sink South Lewis in FL 'C' Division matchup

BEAVER FALLS — Meagan Clemons batted in Darcy Buckingham's winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, and Beaver River secured a 5-4 victory over South Lewis on Wednesday in a Frontier League "C" Division softball game.

Emily Zehr smacked a home run in the fourth inning and a double that drove in the tying run in the seventh for Beaver River (5-7 overall, 3-7 league).

Ashley Emerson belted a two-run home run in the first inning for the Falcons (7-5, 6-4), and Megan Kraeger added three hits.

SACKETS HARBOR 6,

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 3

Shawnee Rice tossed a complete game, recording 10 strikeouts, as the Patriots downed the Panthers in a "D" Division game in Belleville.

Sarah Maxon recorded a double for Sackets Harbor (7-6, 6-3).

Belleville Henderson dropped to 4-7, 4-6.

ALEXANDRIA 8, LYME 1

Casey Lingenfelter held the Indians to one hit and generated a home run to lead the Purple Ghosts to a "D" Division win in Alexandria Bay.

Tiffany Lingenfelter and Ashley Scott had two hits apiece for Alexandria (3-5).

Nikkia Raso produced the hit for Lyme (0-8).

LAFARGEVILLE 11, COPENHAGEN 4

Brittny Black generated three RBIs as the Red Knights defeated the Golden Knights in a "D" Division game at LaFargeville.

Alyssa Williams was 3-for-3 with an RBI for LaFargeville (6-4, 4-4).

Martha Sullivan hit a two-run triple for Copenhagen (2-8, 2-7).

CARTHAGE 5, INDIAN RIVER 2

Katie Jones went 3-for-3 to lead the Comets to an "A" Division win over the Warriors at Philadelphia.

Hillary Ashmead hit two triples for Carthage (6-6, 4-2).

Felicia French had a hit for Indian River (6-8, 2-4).

CANTON 15, POTSDAM 4

Kacie Wentworth earned another win for the Golden Bears in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division win over the Sandstoners at Potsdam.

Wentworth fanned four batters and allowed four hits for Canton. Taylor Jordan supplied two hits for the Golden Bears (9-5, 6-1).

Monique Cornett led Potsdam (3-6, 2-5) with two hits. Corina Simonelli and Meghan Matott added one hit each for the Sandstoners.

OFA 16, TUPPER LAKE 0

Kate Nelson surrendered just one hit and struck out 15 in a Central Division win over the Lumberjacks in Tupper Lake.

Mary Beth Davis smacked a home run and went 3-for-5 for Ogdensburg Free Academy (4-3).

Hunter Aldridge earned the only hit for Tupper Lake (0-7).

MALONE 12, MASSENA 3

Brittany Marshall went 3-for-5 in a dominating Central Division win for the Huskies over the Red Raiders in Massena.

Megan Patterson struck out six batters for Malone (8-0). The Huskies scored four runs in the top of the fifth to pull out of reach of Massena.

Erin Tyo collected three hits for the Red Raiders (5-5, 4-4).

ST. LAWRENCE 21,

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 3

Ashley Thayer struck out eight and threw a no-hitter despite allowing three unearned runs in the bottom of the third inning in an East Division game at Brushton.

Brittany Crump went 4-for-5 with four RBIs for St. Lawrence (10-0, 9-0). Nikia Arquitt connected for two hits and two RBIs for the Larries.

Brushton-Moira fell to 2-6, 2-4.

SALMON RIVER 2-11,

CHATEAUGAY 0-2

Krista Oakes picked up two wins and struck out 22 total batters in an East Division doubleheader sweep of the Bulldogs in Chateaugay.

Oakes struck out 13 on a one-hit shutout in game one and nine in the second game. Brittany Avery had an RBI and four hits for Salmon River (6-1) in the two games.

Lindsey Legacy had the only hit in game one and went 3-for-3 in game two to lead Chateaugay (5-3).
