Agencies offer tips guide for cross-border traveling
FRIDAY, MAY 9, 2008

Seaway Trail Inc. and New York Sea Grant have worked with U.S. and Canadian border officials to issue the 2008 edition of "Cross-Border Travel Tips for Recreational Boaters, RV Owners and Motorists."

The tips guide includes a travel resource section identifying the themes for traveling the Great Lakes Seaway Trail, the 518-mile freshwater byway that parallels the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario, Niagara River and Lake Erie.

The expanded tips also include types of ID required for crossing, resources for future forms of travel documents, entry points with contact phone numbers, and the ports equipped with videophones for reporting boat arrivals.

The tips are available as a downloadable document at www.seawaytrail.com.
