ADAMS CENTER — Raymond C. Vout, 89, of 1902 20th Ave. W., Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Adams Center, died Tuesday evening at Blake Hospital, Bradenton.
Mr. Vout was a mechanic for Greyhound Bus Lines, and for many years, was a mechanic and later a service manager for the former Northrop Motor Co., Watertown.
He retired in 2004 from Autoway Ford, Bradenton.
Born Nov. 24, 1918, in Brockville, Ontario, son of John and Hannah Prue Vout, he attended school in Brockville before moving to the United States at a young age.
He married Irene Woodman of Wolfe Island in November 1938. The couple lived in Watertown and on Dry Hill and later moved to Rodman. The marriage ended in divorce.
He married Erica Rushnell of Adams Center in December 1978. The couple lived in Adams Center, spending summers in Sackets Harbor and winters in Florida. They moved to Bradenton in 1982.
Mr. Vout served in the Army during World War II.
He was a lifetime member of Army & Navy American Legion Post 61, Watertown.
Surviving besides his wife are a son and his wife, Steven and Karen, Adams Center; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Eleazar Lomas, Tomball, Texas; three stepsons and two stepdaughters-in-law, Squire Rushnell and Louise DuArt, New York City, King and Joy Rushnell, Crackville, Ga., and Eric Rushnell, Bradenton; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, 11 stepgreat-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Paul Vout, a daughter, Barbara Egan, a brother, W. Harold Vout, and a sister, Corinne Nichols, died before him.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Union Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating
There will be no calling hours.
