TUPPER LAKE — Massena's Marci Silver relied on the defense to pitch a complete-game, one-hit shutout in a 12-0 victory over Tupper Lake in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division softball game Friday.
Mickenzie Lennox went 3-for-4 and Janelle Bradish smacked a triple for the Red Raiders (6-5 overall, 5-4 division).
Brooke Chartier had the only hit for the Lumberjacks (0-8). The single came in the bottom of the third inning.

Kacie Wentworth struck out nine batters and gave up just two hits in a Central Division game in Canton.
The Golden Bears (11-1, 7-1) received two hits and two RBIs from Samantha Corbett, while Samantha Brown added a pair of hits.

The Golden Knights scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a commanding lead and beat the Wildcats in the opening round of the Lisbon tournament.

Danni Easton collected three hits, and Holly Weaver added a pair of singles for Gouverneur (2-5).
