Farm Viability Institute to host grants workshop
SUNDAY, MAY 11, 2008

CANTON — The New York Farm Viability Institute will hold a grant-application-writing workshop May 29.

Scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative of Extension of St. Lawrence County Learning Farm, 2043 Route 68, the workshop details the grant funds available for farm-based research and outreach education.

The workshop is free; lunch will be provided.

Participants will learn about the institute's grant funding and project model, expectations of leaders of funded projects and how the online application works. There will be opportunity to ask questions and offer suggestions.

Eligible grant applicants include farmers, producer groups, researchers, educators, organizations, agencies and businesses. For more information on the grant workshops, call 453-3823.

Requests for proposals to the institute's annual grant programs will go out May 30 and will be available at www.nyfvi.org.
