Residents of the Watertown City School District received cards in the mail last week detailing the district's proposed 2008-09 budget.
The cards, however, do not contain information about the increase in the tax levy. The levy, or the amount to be raised by property taxes, would be $13,556,564, up 3.2 percent from $13,113,524 in the 2007-08 budget.
The annual budget vote is May 20 from noon to 9 p.m. Residents south of the Black River and in the towns of Watertown and Rutland will vote at Watertown High School. Residents north of the river and in the towns of Pamelia and LeRay will vote at North Elementary School.
