Dittmer guides Heuvelton to decisive win over Hammond

HEUVELTON — Josh Dittmer struck out 10 and scattered four hits to lead the Heuvelton baseball team to a 12-3 victory over Hammond in a Northern Athletic Conference West Division game Monday.


Sean Kelly, Brookin Decker, Scott Bouchey, Trevor Tyo and Chris Bleau each had two hits for the Bulldogs (10-0 overall, 9-0 division). Chuck Clemons had two hits for the Red Devils (2-6).


HARRISVILLE 1, HERMON-DEKALB 0


Tom Coloney threw a one-hit shutout, striking out three, to lead the Pirates past Hermon-DeKalb (5-6, 5-4) in a West Division game in Harrisville.


Coal Campbell singled, stole second and scored on a hit by Carson Patnode for the lone run for Harrisville (5-4).


LISBON 6, MORRISTOWN 2


Eric Mehaffy had two hits to lead Lisbon (6-2) past the Green Rockets in a West Division game in Morristown. William Whitmarsh homered for Morristown (0-8).


EDWARDS-KNOX 9, CLIFTON-FINE 5


Josh Kirkpatrick doubled and singled to lead the Cougars (5-5, 3-4) past Clifton-Fine in a West Division game at Star Lake.


Dan Donovan and Gordon Whitney each had two hits for the Eagles (3-5).


OFA 9, TUPPER LAKE 8


Joel Abar led off the top of the eighth with a single and advanced to third on two groundouts before scoring the eventual winning run for OFA on a fielder's choice by Andy Fisher in a Central Division win in Tupper Lake.


Gene Bouyer and Brendan Merna each had three hits for OFA (9-1, 7-1), and Abar finished with two hits.


Jim Merrihew, Steve Doolen and Bob Lawyer each had two hits for the Lumberjacks (2-9, 1-8).


MALONE 10, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 2


Zach Leffler got things started for Malone (9-4, 5-4) with a lead off home run in the top of the first in a win over the Flyers in a Central Division game in Norwood. Matt Rose added two hits for the Huskies.


Brad Fleury struck out five and scattered five hits for Malone. Kirk Colbert doubled for the Flyers (3-6, 1-6).


CARTHAGE 6, IMMACULATE HEART 2


Greg Christian hurled a complete-game three-hitter as the host Comets topped the Cavaliers in a Frontier League "A" Division game at Carthage.


Christian walked seven and didn't strike out a batter, and his defense played error-free baseball behind him.


Patrick Buzzell and Keith Harley both finished with three hits for the Comets, while Mitch Weaver and Tyler Abbass had two hits each. All four contributed a double.


LOWVILLE 7, SOUTH LEWIS 0


Dallen Farney and Zach Haenlin each produced three hits for the Red Raiders during a crossover win at Turin.


Haenlin also had two RBIs, while A.J. Capone and Matt Roggie each had two hits for Lowville (14-4, 9-1). Josh Jones and Geoff Marks combined to pitch a two-hitter.


The Falcons dropped to 6-8, 6-5.


ALEXANDRIA 5, COPENHAGEN 4


The host Purple Ghosts scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to eke out a "D" Division win at Alexandria Bay.


Tom Hayes had a key single in the seventh for Alexandria (5-7, 4-6), and the tying and winning runs scored on a two-out strikeout. The pitch got past the catcher for a wild pitch and the ball then was thrown wildly to first base, allowing the runs to score.


Hayes, who pitched the complete-game victory, finished 2-for-4 and drove in a run, while Brian Sanford drove in two runs.


Jimmy Fisher was 2-for-3 for the Golden Knights (6-6, 6-5).


LAFARGEVILLE 8,
BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 6


Brandon Davis smacked two home runs and went 3-for-4 in the Red Knights' "D" Division victory at Belleville.


Dan Mills went 2-for-2, hit a home run and scored four of LaFargeville's runs, and Matt Schofield contributed a double for LaFargeville (4-8, 3-6).


Brandon Tibbles was 2-for-5 for the Panthers (0-12), Chris Leen had a triple, and Jacob Stevenson a double for Belleville Henderson.
