Lisbon's Wheeler socks game-winning homer in eighth
NAC WEST DIVISION: Golden Knights batter connects for three-run shot in extra innings to send Clifton-Fine to defeat

STAR LAKE — Nate Wheeler made Clifton-Fine pay for a pair of errors committed in the top of the eighth inning by blasting a three-run home run and ensuring a 7-4 Northern Athletic Conference West Division win for Lisbon on Wednesday.

Josh Lassial added two doubles and two singles to lead the Golden Knights (7-2 overall).

Gordon Whitney and Andrew Gearsbeck each had two hits for the Eagles (4-5).

HEUVELTON 11, HERMON-DEKALB 4

T.J. Jacobs connected for three singles and drove in one for the Bulldogs in a West Division game in DeKalb-Junction.

Brookin Decker, Scott Bouchey, Trevor Tyo and Jesse Hargrave each singled for Heuvelton (11-0, 10-0 division). Hargrave drove in the would-be winning run as part of a seven-run fourth inning for the Bulldogs.

Jeremy Warren belted a home run for Hermon-DeKalb (5-7, 5-5).

HAMMOND 14, MORRISTOWN 11

The Red Devils used a 2-for-3 night from Chris Thiverege to gain a West Division win over the Green Rockets in Hammond.

Thiverege smacked a home run, and Brandon Howie struck out 11 while batting 3-for-4 for Hammond (3-6).

Morristown got two singles and a triple from Marshall Brown. Bryant Robinson and Jeff King each had two hits for the Green Rockets (0-9).

EDWARDS-KNOX 4, HARRISVILLE 0

Brandon Bressette got things started with a two-run single in the bottom of the first for the Cougars in a West Division game in Edwards.

Sean Sullivan struck out 13 batters in a three-hit win for Edwards-Knox (6-5, 4-4).

Coal Campbell had two of the three hits, and Carson Patnode added the other for Harrisville (5-5).

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 16,

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 6

Cody O'Connor hit two triples and recorded three RBIs for the Panthers in a dominating East Division win in Brushton.

Justin Poirier also had three RBIs, collecting four hits including a triple for Brushton-Moira (5-3, 5-1).

Justin Pearson led Parishville-Hopkinton (3-6, 3-5) with three hits, two doubles and a single.

MALONE 12, OFA 2

Malone pulled off the upset Central Division win thanks to a 10-run third inning in Ogdensburg.

Nick Leffler, Paul Rose, John Beebe, Ryan Brown, Zach Leffler and Brock Bannon consecutively hit safely in the bit third inning for the Huskies (10-5, 6-5). Zach Leffler picked up the win.

The Blue Devils lost for just the second time this season and fall to 10-2, 8-2.

CARTHAGE 10, WATERTOWN 3

Greg Christian finished 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs as the Comets beat the host Cyclones and tied them for second place in the "A'' Division.

Freshman Josh Amann, recently called up from the junior varsity, went 2-for-5 and drove in two runs for Carthage (6-9, 5-3), which lost its first seven games of the season. Jordan Soukup pitched the complete-game win.

Josh Cox hit a two-run homer for Watertown (9-6, 5-3), and Will VanHouten was 2-for-4.

SOUTH LEWIS 6, APW 5

Harry Campbell doubled in the tying and go-ahead runs during a five-run sixth inning as the host Falcons rallied to edge the Rebels in a crossover game at Turin.

Anthony Ripp, who finished 2-for-3, also singled in a run in the sixth for South Lewis (8-8, 8-5), as did winning pitcher Mark Kelley. The Falcons had five of their eight hits in that big inning.

David Stanton and Justin Bristol each were 2-for-4 for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (2-12, 1-11), while Shawn Britton drove in two runs.

THOUSAND ISLANDS 11,

COPENHAGEN 4

Corey Kendall finished 2-for-4 as the Vikings earned a crossover win at Copenhagen.

Casey Calhoun contributed a double for Thousand Islands (9-6, 8-5), while Mike Dano scored three runs.

Shane Berghorn and Blake LaBarge both went 2-for-4 for the Golden Knights (6-7, 6-6).
