Samaritan Medical Center received notice earlier this month that it will receive a national award for its capital campaign video, "Advancing Healthcare ... Close to Home."
The Watertown hospital and Keegan Associates, the Cortland-based firm that submitted the 13-minute video, both will receive a Silver Aster Award.
Krista A. Kittle, SMC spokeswoman, said the video was made over a two-day period last summer in an effort to capture the impact the hospital has had on the people who have used the facility for a variety of services.
People who shared their Samaritan experience include Barbara N. Webber, Black River, who received radiation therapy; Shannon Hogan, Watertown, who survived a motor vehicle accident and was treated, and Ronald J. Melara, Watertown, who survived a heart attack and was treated at the hospital.
