Thousand Islands Brochure Swap set
FRIDAY, MAY 16, 2008

ALEXANDRIA BAY — The Thousand Islands International Tourism Council will host another Thousand Islands Region Brochure Swap and Picnic at 11 a.m. May 21 at the council office, Collins Landing.

Dawn M. Cole, marketing and communications coordinator of the Thousand Islands International Tourism Council, said the council has been hosting the informal gathering for 11 years to provide an opportunity for business owners to socialize.

The event draws in about 50 businesses and chambers of commerce of southeastern Ontario and Jefferson County.

Mrs. Cole said it was a good way for businesses to get up-to-date information on the happenings in the region and an opportunity for new businesses to get accustomed to the area.

The council will serve hot dogs and salad at the free event.

Chambers of commerce should bring 6,000 brochures and individual business owners should bring up to 2,000 of their latest brochures, fliers and posters highlighting activities and events of the season.

Reservations should be made by calling the council at 482-2520 or 1 (800) 847-5263.
