CANTON — The town is applying for a $15,000 grant from Iroquois Gas Transmission System to pay for construction documents for a cultural arts building it has considered for Willow Island.

Iroquois's Land Enhancement and Acquisition Fund previously provided the village with funding for park benches and picnic tables.

The program assists communities along the company's pipeline route to enhance open space or parks, as well as assist environmentally beneficial projects.
