SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2008

MASSENA — J.W. Leary Junior High School Principal Roger B. Clough II will take over as interim district superintendent, effective Aug. 4.

He will replace superintendent Douglas W. Huntley, who has accepted a similar position with the Queensbury Union Free School District in Warren County.

As part of the transition, Mr. Clough will undergo training from Mr. Huntley, whose final day with the Massena Central School District is Aug. 3.

Mr. Clough has served in his present post since August 2005. Before that, he spent slightly more than 21/2 years as principal of Nightengale Elementary School.

The district Board of Education has not set a salary for Mr. Clough's new position. Mr. Huntley is being paid an annual salary of $155,628.

Mr. Clough is a village native and Massena Central alumnus. He graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 1998.
