Saturday's rains forced the cancellation of night racing at both Can-Am Motorsports Park and Adirondack International Speedway.
Next Saturday, Can-Am is scheduled to host the Budweiser Shootout, which is considered the track's biggest race of the season. The night features the Empire Super Sprints and a 35-lap DIRTcar big-block modified race. The winner takes home $2,000 in each race. The night will also feature the Lucas Oil Sportsman series, street stock open event and thunder cars.
Adirondack Speedway is scheduled to resume racing next Saturday with T.J. Toyota of Potsdam "Spirit of 76" Night, which includes a 76-lap ASA Challenger late model race, plus racing in all divisions. Fireworks are scheduled as well.
JOHNSON WINS FEATURE
Alan Johnson of Phelps started toward the back of the field Friday night in the 35-lap modified feature at the Brewerton Speedway, but took the lead on lap 26 and held off all challengers for the victory. With the win, Johnson, took a 10-point lead over Billy Decker for the points track title. Jim Witko finished second and Kevin Bates took third.
In the 20-lap IMCA modified feature, Dale Caswell won another feature. Rich Keller and Kevan Cook finished second and third, respectively.
