Amber Rubarth:After three years of a full-time wood-sculpting apprenticeship, Ms. Rubarth traded in her chain saw for a guitar and taught herself to write and play songs. The career change paid off. Her album "Something New" was released in 2005. The song "Washing Day," off her second release, "Unfinished Art," won first place in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition. Chris Pierce:He will be making a stop at Rock for the River on the heels of a tour of Japan. His music has been compared to the works of Al Green, Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye. He has opened for Seal, and his songs have made their way to big and small screens, including the soundtrack for the Oscar-winning film "Crash." His latest album is "Walking on the Earth." Chris Seefried:In between making records and performing as Roseanne Cash's touring partner, Mr. Seefried has scored numerous films and commercials. A solo record, "Denim Blue," was released this year and features musical contributions from David Immergluck of Counting Crows. This is his first Rock for the River. Eliza Moore:Ms. Moore's unique sound stems from her diverse musical background. Rooted in classical tradition, she further honed her skills in London, where she developed a passion for world music and collaborative composition.

Garrison Starr:A native of Hernando, Miss., Ms. Starr's southern background subtly peeks through her songs as she blends a pop/rock/alternative sound with her country vocals. Her latest album is "The Girl That Killed September."

Joey Ryan:Mr. Ryan's songs have been in the Top 20 of the iTunes folk charts in three countries. His songs have been featured on the television shows "One Tree Hill" and "Veronica Mars." His song "California" is used by UNICEF in a TV commercial publicizing its TAP project, which provides drinking water in underdeveloped nations.
