LITTLE FALLS — The Watertown Wizards won their first away game of the season, splitting a doubleheader against the Little Falls Miners, 8-7 and 1-3, in a New York Collegiate Baseball League matchup Tuesday.
In the first game, Jake Gorman singled home Khyle Dimino in the ninth inning, and Bret Fratzke closed out the victory for Watertown (6-12). Gorman finished with two hits, including a double. Dimino registered a triple, while Tom Barry had three hits for the Wizards.
Watertown scored only one run in the nightcap — despite recording nine hits, none of which went for extra bases — wasting a strong start by Luis Castillo, who struck out seven.
Little Falls' record moved to 9-12.
