Top 10 scholarship winners at Indian River High School

PHILADELPHIA — Indian River High School held its annual Senior Awards Night on June 5, where more than $40,000 in scholarships were awarded. The top 10 scholarship winners were:

Tyler Brown,son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Brown, Philadelphia, was awarded the following scholapships: National Honor Society, Ithaca Academic Scholarship, ALANA Scholarship, State Academic Excellence Scholarship, High School Teachers Scholarship, Jack Williams Memorial Scholarship, Greg Wiley Memorial Scholarship, Sascha Struble Memorial Scholarship, Clint McKeever Memorial Scholarship, Army Scholar Athlete and Frontier League Scholar Athlete. Mr. Brown plans to attend Ithaca College for physical education.

Spencer Busler,son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Busler, Theresa, was awarded the following scholapships: National Honor Society, Oswego Academic Scholarship, Theresa Rotary Scholarship, Tom & Jean O'Driscoll Memorial Scholarship, Dale Hoover Math Award, Theresa Primary Scholarship and Frontier League Scholar Athlete. Mr. Busler will attend SUNY Oswego for information science.

Mallory Crossman,daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Crossman, Philadelphia, was awarded the following scholapships: National Honor Society, State Academic Excellence Scholarship, Jefferson Community College CAN Academic Scholarship, Theresa Primary Scholarship, Amy Gleason Memorial Scholarship, Kelli Johnson Memorial Scholarship, Athletic Booster Club Scholarship and Frontier League Scholar Athlete. Miss Crossman plans to attend Jefferson Community College for business administration.

Jordan Davidson,son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Davidson, Philadelphia, was awarded the following scholapships: National Honor Society, Crane Vocal Audition Scholarship, Marjorie Leight Kitts Scholarship, High School Teachers Scholarship, Grace Bilby Memorial Scholarship and Jacob Pete Memorial Scholarship. Mr. Davidson will attend SUNY Potsdam Crane School of Music for music education and performance.

Kerry DeCecchis,brother of Mr. and Mrs. James Clyde, Philadelphia, was awarded the following scholapships: Nashville College Award, Joyce Purcell Memorial Scholarship, Wayne Davis Memorial Scholarship, Betsy LaClair Memorial Scholarship and School Store Scholarship. Mr. DeCecchis plans to attend Nashville (Tenn.) Auto-Diesel College for auto body repair.

Stephen Fleming,son of Mr. & Mrs. Alan Fleming, Evans Mills, Indian River Lions Club Scholarship, Tom & Jean O'Driscoll Memorial Scholarship, Evans Mills Primary Scholarship and Middle School Scholarship. Stephen plans to attend Jefferson Community College for business administration.

Rebecca Gibbens,daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Gibbens, Philadelphia, was awarded the following scholapships: National Honor Society, Jefferson Community College CAN Academic Scholarship, Philadelphia American Legion Scholarship, Philadelphia Legion Auxiliary Scholarship, Sons of the American Legion Scholarship, Philadelphia Masonic Lodge Scholarship, Art Partners Scholarship and Frontier League Scholar Athlete. Miss Gibbens will attend Jefferson Community College for liberal arts.

Amanda Golden,daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Golden, Antwerp, was awarded the following scholapships: National Honor Society, Cortland Academic Scholarship, Marjorie Leight Kitts Scholarship, Antwerp Fire Department, Antwerp Teachers Scholarship, Greg Wiley Memorial Scholarship and Frontier League Scholar Athlete. Miss Golden plans to attend SUNY Cortland for speech and hearing pathology.

Meggan Johnson,daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Johnson, Evans Mills, was awarded the following scholapships: National Honor Society, Southern Adventist Academic Scholarship, Indian River Teachers Association Scholarship, Marion Rodgers Memorial Scholarship, Student 4 Student Scholarship and Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship. Miss Johnson will attend Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, Tenn., for elementary education.

Tracie Turner,daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Turner, Philadelphia, was awarded the following scholapships: Philadelphia American Legion Scholarship, Philadelphia Legion Auxiliary Scholarship, Sons of the Legion Scholarship, Philadelphia Fire Department Scholarship, Joyce Purcell Memorial Scholarship, Philadelphia Primary Scholarship and Frontier League Scholar Athlete. Miss Turner will attend Jefferson Community College for early childhood education.
