Clarkson University leader made honorary alumnus

POTSDAM — Clarkson University President Anthony G. Collins is now an alumnus.

The Alumni Association surprised him at Saturday's reunion awards celebration by making him an honorary member. The certificate said Mr. Collins received the honor for his dedicated teaching, engaged advising, enterprising research and visionary executive leadership.

He was named the univesity's 16th president in 2003. He was university provost since 1997 and was dean of engineering for two-and-a-half years.

He received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Monash University, Australia, and master's and doctorate degrees from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania.
