HOGANSBURG — Mario Clair of St.-Edmond, Quebec, came away with the victory in the Mr. DIRTcar 358-modified series race Thursday night at the Mohawk International Raceway.
Clair took the lead on lap 91 of the Akwesasne 100 when Brian McDonald had to take his car to the pits with a broken right front shock.
Runner-up Danny Johnson and Jessica Zemken were the only other drivers to complete the distance, while Billy Cook and rookie Larry Wight filled out the front five.
Louie Jackson of Akwesasne won his second straight pro stock feature Thursday night. Jody Swamp finished second, and Travis Back, Stephane Lebrun and Allen Peters finished in the top five of the 20-lap feature.
Harvey Arquette won the 15-lap semipro feature. Brent Kelsey, Kevin Fetterley Jr., Kevin Clement and Jay Montour rounded out the top five.
Raabe charges ahead to win at Thunder Alley
EVANS MILLS — Chris Raabe captured the lead midway through the 25-lap DIRT Sportsman race and pulled away for victory Friday at Thunder Alley Speedpark.
Matt Hulsizer finished in second place. Matt Billings led the race for 13 laps before surrendering the lead to Raabe. Billings ended the race in third.
John Mason raced to victory in the 25-lap Canadian-American IMCA Type Cars Challenge. Ryan Scott claimed second place, and Doug O'Blennis wrapped up third place.
Al Harris picked up the win in the pure stocks event. Kevin Smith and Josh Scanlon finished second and third, respectively.
Dave Mannise took the checkered flag in the SUNY Canton street stock race. Dave Pope followed in second place, and Mike Schultz came in third. Robert Scott was victorious in the thunder car competition, and Bryan Green won the mod lites event.
