An Alexandria Bay man was sentenced Wednesday in Jefferson County Court to three years' probation for falsely claiming to be a state trooper.
Dale W. Massey,42, of 8 Holland St., had pleaded guilty July 11 to second-degree criminal impersonation.
He was accused of identifying himself as a state trooper during a Feb. 17 confrontation with a female motorist in a parking lot on Route 12 in the town of Alexandria.

Shakiem Christian,24, Marcy, pleaded guilty to second-degree obstructing governmental administration and third-degree assault and was sentenced to time served.
While incarcerated at Cape Vincent Correctional Facility on April 14, he was accused of striking another inmate, Jason Williams, with his fist and a broom handle. He was also charged with shoving Donald D. Sanford, a correctional officer who tried to intervene.
Maria R. McHugh,24, of 8324-A Middle Lewis Ave., Fort Drum, pleaded guilty to petit larceny and second-degree reckless endangerment. Sentencing was set for Oct. 20.
She was accused of stealing more than $2,300 worth of merchandise on Jan. 17 from Wal-Mart in the town of LeRay and then driving at 50 to 60 mph in the store's parking lot in an attempt to get away from two store employees trying to recover the merchandise.
Winfred M. Rusaw,42, Syracuse, pleaded guilty to third-degree assault. Sentencing was set for Oct. 14. He was accused of striking Chad J. Johnson, Watertown, with a billy club on Jan. 26 outside a Huntington Street bar.
Jacob W. Schroeder,19, 119 Lewis Ave., Fort Drum, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree attempted grand larceny. Sentencing was set for Oct. 10. He was accused of stealing four tires and rims valued at $1,558 from James C. Force, Felts Mills, on June 11.
Nathaniel D. Young,20, of 25070 Cooper Ave., Calcium, pleaded guilty to third-degree forgery. Sentencing was set for Oct. 24. He was accused May 14 of issuing a $53.17 check to Wal-Mart in the town of LeRay while knowing that the check had been stolen from Amanda L. Emmons, Calcium.
