Three people are charged with driving while intoxicated.
■ Lee R. Saltsgaver, 38, Dexter, was charged by Brownville police and Jefferson County sheriff's deputies with aggravated DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation and a seat belt infraction at 1 p.m. Tuesday on Brown Boulevard. Deputies alleged he had a test result of 0.20 percent blood alcohol content. A reading of 0.18 percent is the threshold for aggravated DWI in New York State. Also cited with failure to answer traffic tickets in town of Brownville Court, he was committed to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, with bail set at $2,000 by Brownville Town Justice Richard M. Parker.
■ John R. Marnell, 44, of 29812 County Route 46, town of LeRay, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday after state police said his pickup nearly struck a patrol car on Noble Street in Evans Mills. He is charged with aggravated DWI and a seat belt violation. Police said he had a breath test reading of 0.21 percent.
■ Carl T. Gardner, 43, of 54 Munson Road, Brasher Falls, was charged Tuesday with DWI and two traffic violations after being stopped on Route 420 in the town of Stockholm, state police said. He registered a 0.10 percent BAC. Under state law, 0.08 percent constitutes intoxication.
