Aubertine, Renzi consent to a half-dozen debates

State Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine, D-Cape Vincent, and his Republican opponent, David A. Renzi, will debate each other at least six times before the Nov. 4 general election.

Mr. Aubertine and Mr. Renzi have agreed to appear together at 7 tonight at the Tavern on the Lock, 24 S. 1st St., Fulton; Sept. 16 at Ogdensburg City Hall, 330 Ford St.; Oct. 2 in Oswego; Oct. 15 in Gouverneur; Oct. 23 in Central Square and Oct. 28 at the Italian-American Civic Association, 192 Bellew Ave., Watertown. Tonight's 90-minute debate will be moderated by Jennifer Hill, Greater Oswego Chamber of Commerce executive director.

Mr. Renzi has proposed two additional debates: Sept. 24 at the Adams Country Club, 10700 Route 11, and Oct. 9 at the West Carthage Town Hall, 61 High St. Those still are pending.

Times, moderators and exact locations, where missing, will be announced in the coming weeks.
