OGDENSBURG — Marjorie E. King, 84, Churchville, formerly of Ogdensburg, died Thursday at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Home in Rochester.


Mrs. King was a therapy aide for 25 years at St. Lawrence State Hospital, now St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, until 1985, when she became a family care provider for 15 years.


Born Feb. 22, 1924, in DeKalb Junction, daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth McPhail LaRock, she attended school in DeKalb Junction.


A marriage to Theodore Mereau ended in divorce. She married Milton J. King in July 1977.


She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish, the Blue Army and Showtime and a past member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.


Surviving are a son, David Mereau, and his companion, Andrea Collins, Lanexa, Va.; two daughters and their husbands, Darlene and Edwin Caryl, Chester, Va., and Marcia and Paul Chiappone, Churchville; a stepson and his wife, Joseph and Barbara King, Ogdensburg; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Debra Dority, Lisbon, and Linda and Herman Lewis, Buffalo; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Arlene Jenner, Ogdensburg, and Virginia Strunk, Rose and John Tearney and Shirley Myers, all of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ernest LaRock Jr., Rochester, and Daniel and Isabelle LaRock, Waterport, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.


A sister, Patricia Parow, four brothers, Clifford, Claude, Carl and Richard LaRock, and a stepdaughter, Karen Francis, died before her.


A funeral Mass will be said at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Terry R. LaValley officiating. Entombment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.


Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home.
