McKenney's goal gives Clarkson tie with BC

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Kimberly McKenney scored a power-play goal at 11 minutes, 38 seconds of the third period to help the Clarkson University women's hockey team overcome a four-goal deficit to pick up a 4-4 tie with Boston College in a nonconference game Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles (1-0-1) built a 4-0 lead after the first period off two goals from Allie Thunstrom and single goals from Kelli Stack and Lauren Wiedmeier. Clarkson (0-1-1) scored twice in the second period on shots from Juana Baribeau and Marie-Jo Gaudet, and Kali Gillanders scored at 5:33 of the third to cut the deficit to 4-3.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

SUNY CANTON 4, MAINE-MACHIAS 1

Justin Monahan scored three goals to lead the Kangaroos (7-1-1, 6-0-1) past host Maine-Machias in a Sunrise Conference game. Niki Perkins added one goal and one assist for SUNY Canton, and Nicollette Cunningham scored for Maine-Machias.

Prince Sabatto and Repton Abrahams tallied goals to lead the Kangaroos (5-4-2, 5-1-1) past host Maine-Machias in a Sunrise Conference game. Tom Erlenbach scored for the Clippers.
