MALONE — Muriel E. Lacombe, 91, formerly of Pike Street, Fort Covington, died Saturday morning at Alice Hyde Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since February 2007. She previously had been a resident at Farrar Home for 12 years.
Miss Lacombe was a telephone operator in Fort Covington for several years and also worked at General Ice Cream Corp., North Lawrence, which later became Sealtest, where she worked in the laboratory. She retired in 1979.
Born Sept. 22, 1917, in Fort Covington, daughter of Angus and Ida Rouselle Lacombe, she graduated from Fort Covington High School in 1935.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Fort Covington.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Four brothers, Albert, Harold, Darwin and Paul Lacombe, and three sisters, Mary L. Lacombe, Margaret McAfee and Catherine Lacombe, died before her.
A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Floyd J. "Jerry" Bleaux, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the old parish cemetery.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Cappiello-McKenzie & Cosgrove Funeral Home, Fort Covington.
