Timothy M. McBride, 41, of 1213 Superior St., Kelsey Creek Apartments, died Monday of asphyxiation as a result of hanging.
Mr. McBride worked at James River Paper Co. until they closed, Champion International, and Metro Paper Co., formerly Fort James Paper Co., until he became disabled.
Born Sept. 30, 1967, in Carthage, the son of Samuel A. and Linda F. Spencer McBride, he graduated in 1988 from Carthage Central School.
Following school, he enlisted in the Air Force for six months before joining the Navy on Nov. 19, 1990. Mr. McBride received the National Defense Service Medal and Air Force Training Ribbon and was honorably discharged May 16, 1992.
Mr. McBride was a member of Black River American Legion, enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a fan of Tony Stuart and the San Francisco 49ers.
Surviving are his fiancee, Melissa A. Getman, Watertown; his fiancee's children, Shawna L. and Kenneth C. Camidge, both of Watertown; his father and stepmother, Samuel A. and Marsha E., Pleasant Lake; a sister and her husband, Samantha A. and Troy R. Schirmer, Black River; his stepfather, Neil C. Draper, Black River; a stepbrother and his wife, Gerald W. and Billie Jo DeLosh, Alexandria Bay; two stepsisters and their husbands, Michele and Jerry Johnson, Port Byron, and Karen and David Geer, Hailesboro; an uncle, two nieces, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His mother, Linda F. Draper, died April 18.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bruce Funeral Home, Black River, with the Rev. Greg L. Gates, pastor of Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Felts Mills Cemetery. Calling hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
