Sarah F. Monnat "started screaming and jumping up and down" when she found out earlier this month that she is going to be on "America's Funniest Home Videos" this Sunday.
Sarah, 10, and brother Jonathan D., 8, were feeding bread to "a group of about 12 rambunctious ducks" on a dock at Fish Creek Pond Campgrounds in August 2007 when the video was taken, said Sarah's mother, Pamela J. Monnat, Pamelia.
Just as Sarah threw her last piece of bread, she "lost her balance and, in an animated manner, did a spin and fell off the dock backward, fully clothed, into the water," said Mrs. Monnat, wife of David C. Monnat.
"She was screaming and spinning as she fell and I ran over to make sure she was OK," she said. "Then she stood up and said, 'I'm OK.'"
Sarah said she was "kind of freaked out" when she fell, but her mother was "laughing horribly."
In April, the family was watching "America's Funniest Home Videos" on ABC when Mr. Monnat commented on how the video of Sarah's fall was similar to what was being featured on the show.
Mrs. Monnat said she instantly wanted to submit it, but her husband said it would never be selected.
"I told him to dare me to send it in," Mrs. Monnat said. "He said it would never get on the show. He thought I was crazy. But then I sent it in and he didn't think I was so crazy when we actually got chosen."
Mrs. Monnat said she was initially contacted by the show in August to say that the clip would be aired, but the official word came Wednesday that it would be on at 7 p.m. Sunday.
"I was pretty excited when I heard the message," Sarah said. "I think all of my friends will see it and maybe even people in China. It's really cool."
Mrs. Monnat said the clip is not up for any of the monetary prizes, but she's just happy it will be aired.
"We were all really surprised and excited when we got the call," she said. "We're going to have some family and friends over to watch it. And we're always going to keep our video recorder handy."
