Carthage senior Jamie Grimm today will sign a national letter of intent to play Division I men's lacrosse at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. The ceremony will be at 5 p.m. in the commons area outside the Carthage High School auditorium.
Grimm, who will add his name to the list of many former Comets to play at the top level of college lacrosse, helped Carthage reached the Class B state title game last spring, and has also been a member of the varsity football team.
He tallied an assist and 60 ground balls in '08, and has already been named a captain for the upcoming spring season.
Grimm will join his brother, Rob, who is currently a freshman at the school. The Retrievers finished 14-2 last year, and reached the first round of the NCAA tournament.
