CANTON — An elderly woman run over in her sleep by a car that crashed through her summer home has filed suit against the driver and owners of the vehicle.

The lawsuit was brought by Jean Elma Foy, Morristown, seeking unspecified damages against Christopher L. Marshall, Morristown, Lisa Marshall and Foamite Industries Inc., Vaughan, Ontario, and Foamite Danforth, Toronto, Ontario.

The lawsuit alleges that Ms. Foy, 82, was injured because of the negligence of Mr. Marshall. He was driving a 2003 Infiniti sedan west around 12:40 a.m. Sept. 19 on River Road when he lost control of the car and crashed into the home.

The lawsuit alleges that Ms. Foy suffered multiple injuries, including broken ribs, a liver contusion, brain injuries, a broken pelvis, vision impairment and several bruises. The summer home had to be demolished because of the extensive damage, the lawsuit states.

The 2003 Infiniti with Ontario license plates was registered to Foamite Industries and Foamite Danforth, with Lisa Marshall having given permission to Mr. Marshall to drive the car.

The lawsuit was filed Friday in the St. Lawrence County clerk's office.
