NNY drivers facing DWI, related counts

The following motorists face alcohol-related charges:

■ William E. Kargoe, 36, of 6639 County Route 24, Colton, was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated and several traffic infractions after being stopped in the town of Potsdam, state police said. He registered a 0.16 percent BAC, troopers said. State law establishes 0.08 percent BAC as the threshold for intoxication.

■ Zachary P. Buntz, 20, of 87 Bean Road, Malone, stopped Thursday in the town of Malone, was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, state police said. He registered a 0.06 percent BAC.

■ William B. Babcock, 24, Natural Bridge, was stopped by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies Tuesday on Pinewood Drive, Rutland. Deputies said he registered a 0.11 percent BAC. He was charged with DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and stopping on pavement. Deputies said Mr. Babcock was convicted of DWI on July 6, 2006.
