Police arrest seven on cocaine charges

Watertown police arrested seven people on drug charges Sunday morning.

Jonathan M. Crandall, 34, of 7389 Charnick Drive, town of Lorraine, was charged with third-degree criminal possession, a felony. Kevin J. Holder, 44, of 149 Mechanic St., was charged with first-degree criminal nuisance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession, a misdemeanor.

Raven R. Frangione, 18, of 604 Pine St., Jessica N. Bell, 31, of 17120 Route 53, Dexter, Tiffany Pickett, 20, of 225 Breen Ave., Gregory M. Williams, 32, of 227 Stone St., and Terry J. Schmitte, 54, of 101 St. Lawrence Ave. W., Brownville, were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession.

According to police, officers Joshua W. Davis and Michael S. Maney arrived at Mr. Holder's residence looking for a person after a concerned family member called the police. They observed drug activity with crack cocaine through an open window and were allowed into the house.

The Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force and K-9 Officer Mark W. Sutton assisted at the scene. The amount of cocaine involved was not available Sunday night.

The suspects were arraigned Sunday. Ms. Frangione and Ms. Bell were held in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $250 bail. Mr. Holder paid $2,500 bail and was released at 1:50 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Crandall was held without bail. He has prosecution pending on a number of charges lodged in June and July.
