Seven motorists charged with drunken driving

The following are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Patrick E. Miller Jr., 32, County Route 123, Henderson Harbor, was charged by Watertown police at 12:25 a.m. Friday with aggravated DWI, driving without a license and speeding at 50 mph in a 30-mph speed zone in the 1100 block of State Street. Police said he had a breath test reading of 0.18 percent blood alcohol content. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.

■ Shawn R. Thomas, 29, Wart Road, Mannsville, recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent after being stopped at 9:40 p.m. Thursday on Route 3 in the town of Ellisburg, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. He also was cited with failure to keep right and with having an open beer container in his vehicle after his northbound auto crossed the opposite lane and struck a tree, deputies said.

■ Thomas E. Gardner, 63, Hibbard Point Road, Redwood, was charged by state police about 6:06 p.m. Saturday in the town of Alexandria. He was driving west on Route 12 near the state police barracks when he was stopped for crossing the center line several times, police said. He also was ticketed with failure to keep right. His BAC was reported as 0.09 percent.

■ Lucas C. Stage, 20, of 825 Rees St., Clayton, was charged by Watertown police with aggravated DWI about 1:35 a.m. Saturday. He was charged in the 100 block of Court Street after he allegedly drove off the road and got stuck in a snowbank. His BAC was 0.28 percent, police said.

■ Gregory M. Maurer, 58, of 10926 Route 26, Carthage, also was charged by Watertown police at 9:51 p.m. Saturday with failing to stop at a stop sign. He was stopped on the 300 block of East Avenue. His BAC was 0.15 percent, police said.

■ Tyler M. Sontag, 22, Fort Drum, was charged by state police at 5:45 a.m. Friday with aggravated DWI and making an unsafe start at 28353 Pheasant Run in the town of LeRay. He tested at 0.18 percent BAC, police said.

■ Steven L. Peebles, 25, East Syracuse, was charged by state police about 2:40 a.m. Saturday in the village of Lowville. He allegedly had a BAC of 0.06 percent, but he was charged with DWI based on the trooper's observations.
