Six people face DWI

Ryan G. Bero, 30, of 1021 Route 37, Massena, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated by village police after a traffic stop at 2:35 a.m. Sunday on East Orvis Street in Massena. He also was charged with felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, not wearing a seatbelt and operating a motor vehicle without headlights.

Mr. Bero was arraigned in Massena Village Court and released on $1,500 cash bail. No other information was available from village police.

Also charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses were:

■ Nicholas M. Miller, 23, of 9 Prospect St., Malone, was charged by state police after a traffic stop Saturday on Elm Street in Malone. He also was charged with moving unsafely from a lane. Mr. Miller tested a 0.13 percent blood alcohol content, police said. He is to answer the charges in Malone Village Court.

■ Craig L. Cook, 28, of 84 Cook Farm Lane, Hogansburg, was charged by village police after he was involved in a three-vehicle accident at 2:51 a.m. Friday on East Orvis Street in Massena.

Mr. Cook also was charged with failure to stay in the designated lane and driving at an unreasonable speed. No other information was available from village police.

■ John A. Bigtree, 23, of Hogansburg, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated by village police after a traffic stop at 2:29 a.m. Saturday on Main Street in Massena.

He also was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to keep right. No other information was available from village police.

■ Ryan C. Lennox, 26, of East Church St., Adams, also was charged by state police with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident at 10:59 p.m. Friday on Route 342 in the town of Pamelia.

Police said Mr. Lennox hit a pedestrian, Omar E. Ramos of Newark, N.J., who was standing next to a disabled vehicle on the roadway, then struck the disabled vehicle and fled the scene.

Mr. Ramos was treated at the scene by members of the Evans Mills ambulance squad.

Mr. Lennox, who was located shortly afterward, allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent. State law says a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes intoxication.

■ Steven A. Barry, 23, Chaumont, was charged by state police at 3:15 a.m. Sunday in the Salmon Run Mall parking lot in the town of Watertown.
