WDT: Everyone had a brief Christmas break recently. What are some of the things you enjoyed about going home for the holidays?
DeFazio: I really enjoyed spending time with my family and friends. Getting to see my three little brothers play hockey was awesome, as well as getting to see my close friends again. Catching up was great.
WDT: You've had a dramatic improvement in scoring from your freshman year. Why is that?
DeFazio: Well, I think for the most part I knew I needed to grow as a player. As a freshman I knew I wasn't relied upon for the scoring side of things, but more for energy and as a hard-working player. This year I think my role has increased. I'm still taking on that energy and hard-working mentality, but also combining it with some scoring. I give a lot of credit to my linemates (Scott Freeman and Lauri Tuohimaa).
WDT: Teammate Tim Marks said you are the player most like Michael Scott, the infamous boss from NBC's, "The Office." If you had to cast Tim as a character from a recent TV show or movie, who would he be?
DeFazio: I'm sure there are many characters out there that Tim could be related to with his very unique personality. But if I were to cast Tim as a character from a recent movie, I would cast him as Brick Tamland from "Anchorman." The reason being is, like Brick, intelligence really isn't Tim's strong point.
WDT: Which one of Clarkson's coaches was most involved in your recruiting and what impressed you about him and the school?
DeFazio: (Greg) Drechsel was the most involved in my recruiting process. I think what impressed me most at the time was how down to earth (he was), and he was easy to talk to. He made it very easy to ask questions and understand what Clarkson was all about.
