Dozen motorists charged with DWI

The following are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Needham G. Parrish Jr., 33, of 720 Jack Road, Clayton, was arrested by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies on a charge of felony DWI at 11:45 p.m. Thursday on Route 283 in the town of LeRay. He also faces charges of felony aggravated unlicensed operation, endangering the welfare of a child and operating a vehicle having a revoked registration.

His felony charges are based on a DWI conviction in December, according to the sheriff's office. He had breath test reading of 0.12 percent blood alcohol content and had three children riding with him, deputies said. State law establishes 0.08 percent BAC as the threshold for intoxication.

■ Cory W. Peck, 27, Great Bend, is charged with aggravated DWI, making an unsafe lane change and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle as a result of his arrest by state police at 11:40 p.m. Thursday. His vehicle was stuck in a snowbank along Route 3A in the town of Wilna, police said. He tested at 0.26 percent BAC, police said. State law establishes 0.18 percent as the threshold for aggravated DWI.

■ Adam J. Weiler, 29, of 305 Charles St., Boonville, was charged by Lewis County sheriff's deputies with aggravated DWI and speed not prudent for the weather conditions at 8:41 p.m. Tuesday after he got stuck in a snowbank on Route 294 in the town of Lewis. No BAC was provided.

■ William H. Baxter, 23, Route 12D, Turin, was charged by Lewis County sheriff's deputies at 3:40 a.m. Sunday after he reportedly got stuck in a snowbank while attempting a U-turn on Route 26 in the town of Martinsburg. He allegedly had a BAC of 0.09 percent.

■ Tyler J. Coppinger, 21, Fort Drum, was charged by state police at 4:50 a.m. Sunday on Route 104 in the town of Mexico after they responded to the report of a disabled vehicle. Mr. Coppinger allegedly refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test.

■ Claude E. Zirbel Jr., 31, Genoa, was charged Jan. 10 with felony DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle after being stopped on Pearl Street in Malone, village police said. No BAC was provided.

■ Chase J. LaPlante, 22, Carthage, also was charged by state police with failure to keep right at 1:35 a.m. Jan. 10 after he allegedly drove into a snowbank off Second Road in the town of Croghan. He allegedly had a BAC of 0.10 percent.

■ Robert J. Snyder, 70, of 2218 Route 420, Massena, was charged Jan. 10 with felony DWI and failure to keep right after being stopped on Cook Street in Massena, village police said. No BAC was provided.

■ Frank A. Lindley, 47, of 21 Chestnut St., Potsdam, was charged Tuesday evening on Sissonville Road, Potsdam, by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department. He had a BAC of 0.17 percent, deputies said.
