CARTHAGE — Sarah Johnson scored 22 points and snatched 10 rebounds to help Carthage hand South Jefferson its first loss of the season, 43-38, in a Frontier League crossover girls basketball game Monday.
Joey Percy recorded 11 points and eight rebounds, and Amy Tiernan racked up six steals for Carthage (10-4 overall, 7-2 league), which faces Indian River on Wednesday to decide the "A" Division championship.
South Jefferson (12-1, 10-1) received 13 points from Rachael Bassett and 10 points from Cassie St. Hilaire.
