Class of '69 grad is elected again to Clarkson board

POTSDAM — John D. Correnti, chairman and chief executive officer of Steel Development Co., has been re-elected to Clarkson University's board of trustees. The 1969 alumnus last served on the board from 1996 to 1999.

He will be a member of the college's institutional advancement and physical plant committees.

Mr. Correnti earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Clarkson College in 1969. He was CEO of Nucor Co., Birmingham Steel Corp. and SeverCorr before joining Steel Development this year.

He also is a director for Navistar International Corp. and Corrections Corporation of America and a member of the Mississippi University for Women Foundation Board.

Mr. Correnti received Clarkson's most prestigious alumni honor, the Golden Knight Award, in 1994. He and his wife, Dawn, live in Columbia, Miss., and Blytheville, Ark.
