COUNTY COURT: Ogdensburg resident accused of forcing way into woman's home

CANTON — An Ogdensburg man was indicted by a St. Lawrence County grand jury for allegedly forcing his way into a home on Valentine's Day and raping a 26-year-old woman.

Raymond R. Bjork Jr., 36, of 917 Mechanic St., was indicted Tuesday on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act and a single count of first-degree sexual abuse.

Bjork, who has a criminal history, was convicted in 1998 on two counts of attempted second-degree burglary and pleaded guilty in 2003 to third-degree criminal sale of marijuana.

He was arraigned in St. Lawrence County Court and pleaded innocent to the charges.

The grand jury also returned indictments against the following:

Joseph M. Herne, 45, of 195 Cook Road, Hogansburg, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Mr. Herne is accused of possessing about 63 pounds of marijuana Aug. 26 in the town of Madrid.

Scott M. Fournier, 35, of 391 N. Raquette Road, Massena, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He reportedly had eight bags of cocaine Dec. 5, 2007, in the village of Massena.

Earle J. Sheehan, 33, Niagara Falls, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

He is accused of possessing about 6.5 pounds of marijuana Oct. 9 in the town of Stockholm.

Shaun L. Cockayne, 32, of 223 Dullea Road, Brasher Falls, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated.

Mr. Cockayne was charged after being stopped Aug. 30 on Reservation Road in the town of Stockholm. He registered a 0.20 percent blood alcohol content.

He was convicted Dec. 6, 2000, of misdemeanor DWI in Stockholm Town Court.
