A Watertown man admitted Friday in Jefferson County Court that he tried to sell cocaine in the city in August.
Cedricquios A. Grant,19, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance, admitting he tried to sell cocaine Aug. 8 in Watertown. He is expected to be sentenced May 4 to 11/2 years in state prison, followed by a year of post-release supervision.
He was charged in a grand jury indictment handed up in November with three counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and a single count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. It was alleged he sold cocaine on two occasions in August in Watertown and again in mid-November.
Had he been convicted of each count, he could have faced up to nine years in prison.

Timothy W. Youngs Jr.,18, Three Mile Bay, was sentenced to time served and five years' probation for a March 19 guilty plea to fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. It was alleged that he sold prescription pills to a female Dec. 18 in the cafeteria at Lyme Central School, Chaumont, according to sheriff's deputies.
Mark W. Hubbard,20, Little Falls, was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered to pay $382 in restitution for Feb. 13 guilty pleas to second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was charged Oct. 14 with using a hockey stick to smash windows on two cars at the Rolf Wagoner residence, Dingman Point Road, Alexandria Bay, and with entering the Wagoner home. His probation supervision will be transferred to Herkimer County.
Michael J. Endres,35, Watertown, was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to complete the Bridge program for Feb. 27 guilty pleas to aggravated driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He admitted at the time of the pleas to driving drunk and traveling at a speed in excess of 100 mph in a 55 mph zone Dec. 28 on Route 283 in the town of LeRay. He also was fined $1,500, was ordered to perform 30 hours of community service and had his driver's license revoked.
Immanuel G. Harper,27, of 73 Public Square, Apt. 3, was arraigned on two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The charges were contained in a grand jury indictment unsealed in court.
It is alleged that he had and sold cocaine in early September and early January in Watertown. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $25,000 bail.
Aaron M. Murphy,19, of 234 Coffeen St., Apt. 1E, was arraigned on two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The charges were contained in an indictment unsealed in court.
It is alleged that he had and sold cocaine twice in mid-January at his residence. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was sent to the PSB on $25,000 bail.
