Several motorists cited with intoxicated driving

The following motorists were charged with driving while intoxicated and other related offenses:

■ Corey W. Gilpin, 23, of 20959 County Route 16, Watertown, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after a 12:41 a.m. stop Saturday on the 200 block of Factory Street.

Police said he registered a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.

■ Sherrie Martino, 49, of 406 New York Ave., Ogdensburg, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated by Ogdensburg police after a 1:45 a.m. stop Saturday. Her BAC was not released by police. Ms. Martino was also charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving on the shoulder.

■ Diana M. Matthews, 30, of 823 Stone Church Road, Morristown, was charged early Saturday by state police. Her BAC allegedly was 0.13 percent when she was stopped on Route 37, town of Oswegatchie, for driving across hazard markings. She was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

■ Corey D. Blandin, 30, of 1051 County Route 21, Hermon, by stopped by state police Saturday while driving an all-terrain vehicle in the village of Hermon. Troopers charged him with felony-level driving while intoxicated after he registered a BAC of 0.22 percent.

They also charged him with unlawful operation on a public highway, unregistered ATV, uninsured operator, operating without a helmet, operating within 100 feet of a dwelling, failure to display plates, failure to stop at a stop sign, operating without lights and failure to keep right.

■ William O. Lough, 33, of 308 W. Hoard St., was stopped at 3:02 a.m. Saturday on State Route 3, Hounsfield, by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies. Police said he had a 0.17 percent BAC.

■ Shawn L. Ainsworth, 30, of 17120 County Route 53, Dexter, was stopped by state police at 9:20 p.m. Saturday on State Route 12E, Brownville. Troopers said his BAC was 0.16 percent. He was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and loud exhaust.

Mr. Ainsworth was arraigned in Brownville Town Court where he was ordered held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building in lieu of $500 cash bail.

■ Aaron J. Waterman, 18, Watertown, was charged by state police with driving while ability impaired by alcohol Saturday.

Troopers said Mr. Waterman registered a blood alcohol content of 0.07 percent after he was stopped at 4:43 a.m. in the northbound lane of Interstate 81.

He is to answer the charge in Richland Town Court.

■ Vernon R. Fitchette, 21, LaFargeville, was also charged by state police with drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle and inadequate muffler Friday.

Troopers said Mr. Fitchette registered a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent shortly after the 10:50 p.m. stop on Route 180. He is to answer the charges in Orleans Town Court.
