An Adams Center man and his pregnant friend were injured Saturday when their motorcycle crashed trying to avoid a vehicle on Route 11, LeRay.

Jefferson County sheriff's deputies said Dustin R. Eassa, 33, laid his Harley-Davidson on its right side when he realized he would not be able to stop in time for a car braking in front of him.

Mr. Eassa and Laurie E. Harvey, his passenger, were thrown off the vehicle. Mr. Rassa suffered road rash, deputies said, and was taken to Samaritan Medical Center. Ms. Harvey, they said, scraped her lower arm. The police report did not indicate that she was taken to a hospital.

No tickets were issued. The crash occurred at 12:19 p.m. on Route 11, about 0.1 of a mile north of Route 26.
