Cranberry Lake club celebrates centennial

CRANBERRY LAKE — The Cranberry Lake Boat Club will begin a summer-long centennial celebration of its existence at 10 a.m. May 23 at the Community Center.

The day's events include remarks by state Senator Joseph L. Griffo, R-Rome, Centennial Committee Chairman Allen P. Splete, Clifton-Fine Economic Development Corp. President Christopher L. Westbrook, Adirondack Mountain Club Executive Director Neil F. Woodworth, boat club Director Sherman Craig, St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Patricia L. McKeown and William G. Gleason.

Following the ceremony, there will be refreshments and memorial trees will be planted at the Cranberry Lake dam and Ranger School in Wanakena.

Summer activities will include a road race, a boat parade, sail and cardboard boat races, and musical programs. For more information, visit their Web site at www.cranberrylake
