NYPA files suit against two over security fence

CANTON — The New York Power Authority has filed suit against a Massena man and the owner of the car he was driving for destroying a security fence.

The lawsuit is seeking $13,684.58 in damages against Massena residents Jason J. Hughes and Carol A. Porter.

Mr. Hughes was driving a car owned by Ms. Porter on July 7, 2007, when he crashed through a security fence near Center Street and Liberty Avenue. The car then hit a concrete bridge and caught fire.
