SYRACUSE — The construction company that built Little Caesar's in Evans Mills is offering its own brand of a stimulus plan.
Onsite Facility Services LLC, at 6730 VIP Parkway, Syracuse, will provide its own interest-free financing for commercial building projects. Eligible projects with the company would be valued up to $500,000 and have contracts signed by June 1.
"Our perception was we're in trying times and that business doesn't stop," said Vice President Brian Walters. "People out there may want to do work a project but they are holding back."
Onsite offers commercial construction and construction management work including new construction, tenant build-outs, facility expansions, renovation and concrete and masonry work. It was founded in 1998 and employs 30 full-time staff and 45 part-time and seasonal staff.
"The intent is to keep our staff busy and help other area businesses in the process," Mr. Walters said.
The plan divides projects based on cost. For jobs with a total value under $50,000, the customer could pay nothing down, with thirds of the balance due 30, 60 and 90 days after project completion.
For jobs with a total value between $50,000 and $100,000, the customer would pay 10 percent at the contract signing, another ten percent 30 days after the signing, 20 percent upon completion of the project, and 20 percent for each of the next three months.
For jobs with a total value over $100,000, the customer could pay 10 percent at the contract signing, 10 percent 30 days after the signing, 13.5 percent at project completion and in the next four months with a final payment of 12.5 percent.
Onsite recently joined the U.S. Green Building Council, a national, nonprofit organization that certifies sustainable design and construction of businesses, homes, hospitals and schools through its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System. There are federal and state programs that also encourage energy efficient construction and renovations, including federal tax deductions.
"People are definitely interested in the environment and they are trying to save money," Mr. Walters said. "If they are going to build a project in a way that's more energy-efficient, it has two benefits."
